Hundreds of demonstrators marched, Sunday in Paris, from “the Place de la République” to “the Place de la Bastille”, to call for the release of all political prisoners in Algiers, and demand that the Algerian system be tried for its crimes.
Activists who are members of several associations in France said they want the departure of the “mafia gang” that has ruled Algeria for decades.
The Algerian justice system has multiplied in recent months the prosecutions and convictions of “Hirak” activists, political opponents, journalists and bloggers.
According to the National Committee for the Liberation of Detainees (CNLD), hundreds of “prisoners of conscience” are kept behind bars in Algeria.
