Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune will visit France in mid-June, following a phone conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, El Mouradia Palace announced on Sunday.
The visit was originally scheduled on May 2-3, according to information from Le Figaro.
During the phone call, the two heads of state discussed bilateral relations, including Tebboune’s visit to Paris, it said in a statement.
The announcement comes one month after Paris and Algiers officially turned the page on the last diplomatic crisis, mainly in relation to the case of French-Algerian activist Amira Bouraoui.
The two countries are now multiplying efforts to rebuild a more serene relationship. The French-Algerian Historians Committee, tasked with studying the French colonization and the war in Algeria, held its first meeting on April 19.
