Rabat, the African Capital of Culture, will host the first edition of the “African Theatre Festival” on Apr. 24 to 30.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture in partnership with the “Éclats de lune” association, under the Patronage of King Mohammed VI.
In addition to Morocco, troops from African countries such as the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Mali, Cameroon, Kenya, Comoros Islands, and Benin will take part in this cultural event.
This festival aims to highlight the new contemporary African theatre, and show its richness and diversity, mainly the different theatre genres as the Theater of Reality, of Resistance, and of Utopia.
The festival will feature a rich and varied program of theatrical performances, and will include round tables for exchange and debate on themes related to the African continent and this type of art.
