Many Kabylian students were arrested on Thursday in Vgayet and other cities in Kabylia region (Algeria), following their commemoration of the anniversary of the Amazigh Spring (1980-1981) and the Black Spring (2001).
Students were kidnapped and taken to the police station of Vgayet, and others were blocked inside the Abderahmane Mira University in the same city because they were threatened with arrest if they step outside the establishment, according to informed sources.
Thousands of Kabylians demonstrated, Sunday in Paris, to denounce the Algerian repression against their people, demand the release of political prisoners, and reiterate Kabylia’s right to self-determination.
