French hypocritical policy on human rights and free speech was exposed, on Wednesday, by French Deputy to European Parliament (MEP), Thierry Mariani, via a tweet on his official account reading: “All for Algeria, all Against Morocco”.
The MEP condemned Macron’s government for its double standards and bias by turning a blind eye to the arbitrary arrests and attacks against journalists, activists, opponents, and demonstrators in Algeria.

The French Group Renew at the European Parliament decided to distance itself from a resolution in support of Algerian newspaper owner Ihsane El Kadi, who is sued for “foreign financing” and was sentenced to five years in jail in early April.
The EP vote was influenced by the Renew party, which is dominated by the French presidential majority and has very close relations with the Élysée.
However, when it comes to Morocco, accusations are multiplying from Macron’s government in order to please president Tebboune, he regretted.
