2.9 Mln tourists visited Morocco during the first quarter of 2023, an increase of 17% compared to 2019, following the emergency plan implementation that cost 2Bln MAD, said the Ministry of Tourism in a press release.
Tourist arrivals increased by 464%, with foreign tourists rising by 703%, mainly from UK, Spain, Italy, and US, in addition to arrivals by Moroccan expatriates which increased by 324%. Hotel stays rose by 245%.
A new strategic roadmap for 2023-2026 has been developed to make the industry more sustainable and inclusive. The sector is investing in upgrading its programs to improve the quality of services.
