Italian AMG Packaging kicked off, on Wednesday in Marrakech, the construction works of a plant for the manufacturing of agricultural and agri-food packaging.
The AMG PACKAGING facility, a subsidiary of the Italian business PRO-GEST, will require a total investment of 266 Mln MAD, allowing for the creation of 170 direct and indirect jobs.
Paperboard packaging accounts for a substantial portion of manufactured imports for the food sector, with an estimated value of 1.35 bln MAD, resulting in a pool of investment and prospects in this ever-changing market.
The grand opening was attended notably by Minister of Industry Ryad Mezzour, CEO of AMG Packaging Anna Maria Gasparini and Managing Director of AMG Packaging Massimo PRIASCA.
This plant will replace food cardboard packaging imports while also transferring the know-how and technology to Morocco. The industrial unit will implement eco-friendly technology employed by the Group in its European facilities, said Mezzour.
