King Mohammed VI inaugurated, Monday, a community-based medical Center in Casablanca (Dar Bouazza Commune) worth 73 million dirhams.
The center offers periodic and regular checkups for patients and strives to increase the access of the underprivileged to basic, quality healthcare.
The new center will provide around-the-clock care for nearly 60,000 people per year.
The facility includes an emergency ward with ER doctors and rooms for traumatology, consultation, medical care, observation, and medical plaster.
It also comprises a specialized medical consultation unit (cardiology, ENT, gastroenterology, pediatrics, gynecology, ophthalmology), an orthopedics and functional rehabilitation unit, a medico-technical unit with an operating room (a general surgery room and another for obstetric surgery), as well as a recovery room.
The center also includes a mother-child health unit with a maternity technical unit (4 maternity rooms and a room for newborn care) and examination, care, vaccination, and ultrasound units.
The facility boasts the latest equipment and involves notably an oral and dental care unit, a medical imaging unit (radiology, mammography, ultrasound…), a laboratory and a pharmacy.
The monarch toured the facility which was carried out by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity.
