The Agency for French Schools Abroad decided to suspend a teacher from the Honoré de Balzac School located in Kenitra (north-western Morocco) for unprofessionalism and seriously breaching the teaching practices, reported on Sunday French news outlet “Radio France Internationale” (RFI).
According to RFI, two parents of students alerted the school’s management in 2022 about a teacher’s comments made in class to students aged 7 to 9.
The teacher displayed pictures promoting homosexuality, and made statements about the prophet and the Islamic religion in general, said the parents.
The parents decided to file a complaint at the end of February in the absence of a satisfactory response from the school.
“Pictures of homosexuality should not be in a school or presented to such young children,” lawyer Abderahim Jamai told RFI.
