The American automotive supplier Commercial Vehicle Group (CVG) will open, in Q3 of 2023, a plant for electrical systems manufacturing processes in Tangier, which will be its 1st headquarter in Africa, said a CGV release.
This strategic site will make it possible to serve the European market and provide it with electric commercial vehicles, a sector in full expansion.
President and CEO of CVG, Harold Bevis, said that “the region, which is well-known for its availability of technical talent in the electrical manufacturing industry, will benefit from as many as 1,000 new jobs once the facility is fully operational.”
Alongside Morocco, CVG intends to build new facilities in Aldama, Mexico, to further assist North America and its expanding markets.
CVG is also looking for a new site in the Asia Pacific area to expand its electrification business.
