As part of the World Health Day celebrations, Morocco and the World Health Organization (WHO) signed, Friday in Rabat, a collaboration strategy for the period 2023-2027.
This strategy, signed by Health Minister Khalid Ait Taleb, and WHO representative in Morocco Maryam Bigdeli, outlines the Organization’s technical assistance aimed at strengthening Morocco’s health sector, as well as consolidating bilateral collaboration to improve Moroccan citizens’ health and well-being.
The strategy seeks to support the national health system as part of the generalization of Universal Health Coverage, strengthen the resilience of the national health system, and foster governance.
It draws on the implementation of health reforms, as well as the WHO global agenda, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals. It is also in line with the 2023-2027 UN Framework for Sustainable Development Cooperation (UNFSCC).
According to Bigdeli, this Morocco-WHO cooperation plan is the fourth of its kind, and it indicates the organization’s determination to provide qualitative support for the country over the next five years.
