5.5 million individuals benefited from illiteracy and post-illiteracy programs, since 2017, by the National Agency for Combating Illiteracy, according to Education Minister Chakib Benmoussa.
This came in the opening speech of the Minister, Wednesday, on the occasion of the agency’s adoption of its 2023-2027 roadmap.
“In order to complete these workshops, efforts must be stepped up and rapid progress must be made in order to meet the overarching objective of eradicating illiteracy by 2029,” Benmoussa pointed out.
The minister stated that by putting this new road plan into action, the agency’s management procedures would be strengthened, partners will be mobilized to fulfill demands, and the offer to combat illiteracy will be improved and diversified.
“The agency is keen to carry out the two initiatives that were mentioned in the royal message to the “Seventh International Conference on Adult Learning,” the minister added.
