Morocco firmly condemned, on Wednesday, the Israeli force’s incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as the attack and intimidation of worshippers during the holy month of Ramadan.
Via a release by the Foreign Ministry, the kingdom, whose monarch is the chairperson of the Al Quds Committee, underlined the necessity of preserving the legal, religious, and historical identity of Al Quds and the sacred sites, by avoiding violence and actions that would undermine any prospects for peace in the region.
Israeli police stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque before dawn on Tuesday, clashing with worshippers and injuring 12 Palestinians, according to Reuters.
More than 350 individuals who had barricaded themselves inside were detained and evacuated.
Hundreds of Muslim worshipers spent the night in the mosque enclosure, fearing conflicts with Jewish pilgrims to the site known as the Temple Mount.
