The French Football Federation (FFF) has forbidden pauses during matches to allow Muslim players to break their fast after sunset.
The instructions were sent in an email to the Federal Referees Commission (CFA) and other officials.
The decision is referring to the French “fundamental values” of secularism and the implementation of all means to prevent discrimination.
In England, the Premier League allows Muslim Football players to break their fast by suspending the game for a few minutes to enable them to eat and drink.
