The World Bank (WB) agreed Tuesday to lend Casablanca 94.7 million euros to fund the commune’s support program, said MAP news agency quoting the Economy Ministry.
The additional money is meant to expand Casablanca’s investment capacity, build the city’s resilience to climate change, and improve access to essential services.
The signing ceremony was chaired by Economy Minister Nadia Fettah Alaoui. The agreement was signed by WB Country Director for the Maghreb and Malta Jesko Hentschel and Head of the Casablanca commune Nabila Rmili.
Fettah Alaoui highlighted the important cooperation between the Kingdom and the World Bank and commended the bank’s assistance for the country’s reforms, particularly in terms of territorial development.
