An individual set himself on fire, on Monday, right in front of the Ministry of Culture in Rabat.
The Ministry wrote in a statement that the man was actually a contractual employee in the Mohammed V Theatre, but retired in Oct.2021.
The Ministry purchased two theatrical shows from the retired employee in 2022 and agreed to buy another one in 2023, it pointed out.
The Ministry expressed its deep regrets for the incident, wishing this individual a speedy recovery. The man was admitted to the hospital to receive the necessary medical care.
The former employee had already gone through a hunger strike to protest against what he called marginalization and precariousness.
