Morocco’s Atlas Lions defeated Brazil’s Seleçao 2-1 in a friendly game played Saturday in the northern city of Tangier.
The win brought to memory the spectacular feat by the Moroccan football quad which moved to the semifinals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Sofiane Boufal opened the scoring in the minute 29. Brazilian legend Casemiro scored the equalizer at 22 minute of the second half time.
The goal that secured the Moroccan win was netted in the 79th minute by Abdelhamid Sabiri.
This is the first time in history that a Moroccan football team defeats a Brazilian one.
Magic tifos decorated the pitch at the beginning of the game, marking an image of welcome and sportsmanship for fans who traveled from several cities to attend this match.
Almost all supporters broke the fast in the stadium.
