Illegal Sub-Saharan migrants, including women, men and children are dying from hunger and thirst after they were ditched in the desert near Niger by the Algerian regime, journalist Matthieu Belliard told “C à vous” TV show.
Doctors Without Borders (MSF) reported, that over the past year, 4.677 sub-Saharan migrants were expulsed from the Algerian territories.
In a video shared during the show, migrants said that they were thrown in the Sahara at 4 a.m., and robbed of their phones and money. Some of them were even tortured.
Two women had miscarriages in the desert, and others perished due to high temperatures.
This brings to mind Tunisia’s Kaïs Saïed who had delivered a racist and xenophobic speech against Sub-Saharan migrants in Tunisia.
Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat had strongly condemned the shocking statements by Tunisian authorities against fellow Africans.
