Morocco does not need unimportant errand persons to defend its interests, said BFMTV former journalist Rachid Mbarki, on Wednesday at a parliamentary fact-finding commission on foreign interference, chaired by the RN deputy Jean-Philippe Tanguy.
BFMTV fired its journalist Rachid M’Barki in February, over suspicions of interference in his work after he said “the Moroccan Sahara” and shared images on air.
M’Barki denied that he was paid for displaying unverified information on TV and overlooked the work’s ethics. “My alleged implication is a work of fiction.”
M’Barki admitted that he had shown neutral images on an economic forum held by Morocco and Spain, in June in the Southern provinces.
The journalist added that, though the pictures were provided by a foreign source, they were approved by the management hierarchy.
