Morocco rejects irresponsible actions as well as inflammatory, negative remarks, said Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita on Wednesday in response to provocative statements made by some Israeli officials on Arab countries and the Palestinian people.
In a joint press conference with Burkina Faso’s Foreign Minister Olivia Ragnaghnewendé Rouamba, Bourita stressed that King Mohammed VI has always emphasized the necessity of dialogue and negotiations to find a solution to the Palestinian issue.
The Moroccan top official also underlined the need to respect the Palestinian People’s legitimate rights to establish their State on the June 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, pointing out that this position is consistent with international law, the Arab Peace Initiative, and UN Security Council resolutions.
Bourita concluded that Morocco rejects unilateral actions that can undermine that solution, and supports all peaceful initiatives that can lead to the internationally agreed upon two-state solution.
