Morocco’s foreign exchange regulator “Office des Changes” said that the annual exports of construction materials are forecast to reach $3 billion by 2026.
A study on the development of the construction materials sector said that Morocco can convert a significant portion of its imports of construction materials products, costing 21 billion MAD, into domestic production.
Morocco could have a 0.5% market share of the $600 billion global building materials industry by 2026, the same source pointed out.
The regulatory authority stated that Morocco can achieve this goal by transforming industrial processes, making them less energy-consuming and carbon-emitting, and by producing products of high technological value.
