Morocco allocated, on Friday, a budget of 6.1 billion MAD for the tourism sector over the 4 coming years (2023-2026).
The funding will allow Morocco to receive about 17.5 million tourists and generate 120 billion MAD by 2026, wrote the government in a statement.
200,000 job opportunities will be created, turning tourism into a key sector in Morocco’s economy, added the statement.
To achieve these goals, the government intends to double air transportation, and improve promotion and marketing with a focus on digitization, diversification of cultural and entertainment products, hotel rehabilitation, and the creation of new accommodation offers.
