Police services nabbed, Wednesday, three ISIS-affiliated suspects in relation to the horrific murder of a policeman in Casablanca, according to a statement by the National Police (DGSN).
The suspects were apprehended in simultaneous operations in Casablanca and Sidi Harazem near Fez.
The accused have recently sworn allegiance to the emir of an ISIS terrorist cell and were planning a series of terror attacks to undermine Morocco’s security.
The terror plots were hatched against police services, including the police officer who was killed.
The suspects were intending to use the officer’s firearm in a bank robbery to fund their criminal activities.
The attackers stabbed the officer with knives, mutilated his body and set it on fire in a rural area.
The suspects were placed in police custody to complete the investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor.
