Moroccan exports of fresh strawberries stood at 22,400 tons in 2022, a 17% growth year on year, reported EastFruit.
Fresh strawberries are included in the top 10 most exported vegetables and fruits from Morocco and bring the country from 40 to 70 mln dollars per year, it added.
The specialized horticulture platform highlighted that the kingdom gradually increased the exports of fresh strawberries by 3% every year since 2017, and blueberries by 28%.
The agency added that Morocco diversified its suppliers which were dominated by the Spanish market, to start delivering to other European countries such as the United Kingdom.
Morocco’s export of strawberries to the Middle East was multiplied by 30 between 2017 and 2022 (1.700 tons).
