Morocco’s Equipment and Water Minister Nizar Baraka will speak at a panel-discussion on “Water and Sustainable Development: Water-Energy-Food Nexus and Sustainable Economic and Urban Development”, as part of the UN Water Conference 2023 scheduled in New York on Mar. 22-24.
The panel, co-chaired by China and the European Union, will be marked by speeches by Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Abdul Momen, USG and Executive Director of the UN Human Settlements Program Maimunah Mohd Sharif, and Vice-Rector for Research and Professor at Riga Technical University Tālis Juhna.
The panel discussion will give more insights on the importance of water in sustainable development. It will also tackle capacity development and innovation as key to finding new solutions to the issue of clean water.
The discussions will shed light on links between water, climate change and biodiversity loss. It will also stress that water service provision must be valued to halt the disastrous patterns of water wastage while ensuring equitable access to water for all.
