President of the Morocco-Israel Friendship Circle (CAMI), Gabriel Banon expressed, Saturday at the 2nd “MD Sahara Forum”, his surprise at Israel’s passivity toward the recognition of the Moroccan identity of the Sahara.
Speaking to i24 news channel, Banon said that many Moroccan Jews living in Israel had expressed their dissatisfaction with this stance, given their commitment to the “National Cause”.
He wondered why Israel, one of the most democratic countries in the world, remains silent on this matter?
On a separate topic, he cast light on the deteriorating ties between France and Morocco. According to him, this is all the fault of Macron who has a “catastrophic” attitude towards a country that used to be a close ally.
Banon also described the French President’s actions towards Algeria as provocative and nonsensical.
