Minister Delegate for National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi received, Sunday, US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley.
The two officials expressed their satisfaction with the long-standing ties of friendship and cooperation that were consolidated by a strategic military partnership, including the 2020-2030 Defense Cooperation Roadmap signed in October 2020, said the FAR General Staff in a statement.
The two sides praised the Defense Advisory Committee’s excellent results and underlined the role of annual joint exercise “African Lion” in boosting the armed forces’ interoperability.
Loudyi also underscored the Morocco-USA-Israel tripartite agreement, inked in December 2020 to foster peace and stability in North Africa and the Middle East.
The Moroccan top official also lauded the USA’s recognition of the full sovereignty of Morocco over its Sahara.
Gen. Milley met also with FAR Inspector General Belkhir El Farouk.
The two high-ranking officers reiterated their commitment to deepening military collaboration and strategic alliance.
“Morocco is a partner and crucial ally of the United States. It is also a very stable country in a region in need of peace,” Milley told the press following the meetings.
