Moroccan universities hosted in 2021 over 23,000 foreign students, 83% of them are from African countries (19,250 students), said on Saturday Minister of Higher Education Abdellatif Miraoui.
Speaking at the 2nd “MD Sahara” forum themed “Morocco in Africa, a Royal choice for a global and integrated Continent”, the official said that this figure is the fruit of the Kingdom’s cooperation with its African partners, mainly under mobility programs.
Miraoui highlighted that the partnership between Moroccan universities and their African peers has been strengthened in the area of training, research, and development projects covering priority sectors.
He added that Africa has an enormous potential necessitating decisive action in terms of public policies, mainly education.
He also highlighted the broad lines of the Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation Transformation Plan (PACTE ESRI 2030).
