At least 36 people died and dozens were injured when a passenger train crashed head-on into a cargo train near Larisa (Center of Greece) on Tuesday night, according to Reuters.
The passenger train was transporting 342 passengers and 10 crewmembers, while the cargo train was carrying only two workers.
The local station manager in charge of signaling was arrested by the authorities to investigate why the two trains were on the same track.
The death toll is expected to grow. The accident is the country’s deadliest rail crash so far.
