Morocco’s Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita reaffirmed, on Tuesday, that the Kingdom is not taking part in the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Bourita stated, at a joint press conference with Austrian Secretary General for Foreign Affairs Peter Launsky, that Morocco’s stance on the conflict is based on the principles of state sovereignty preservation and respect for the territorial integrity of UN Member States.
He explained that Morocco abstains from voting at the UN except when the resolution involves the principles of the UN Charter and international law.
He went on to say that the Kingdom always votes in favor of resolutions which aim to preserve the territorial integrity of states through peaceful conflict resolution methods.
