President of the LR group (Les Républicains) at the French Senate Bruno Retailleau described, on Tuesday, Macron’s policies in Africa as a failure.
In an interview with “la Matinale” in CNEWS, Retailleau commented on the president’s speech that set the agenda for his African tour.
The Senator said that Macron is making several blunders, just as he did in Algeria in August 2022, and presented himself as a symbol of neo-colonial repentance.
Retailleau contended that France lost favor with Africa at a time when other powers, like Russia, are strengthening ties with the continent and creating anti-French feelings.
