1,273,000 Moroccan farmers are registered with the National Social Insurance Fund (CNSS), and 144,000 others are in the process of being registered, said on Monday Minister of Agriculture Mohamed Sadiki.
During a session at the Upper House, the minister presented the latest details on the generalization of social insurance for the benefit of farmers and their families.
Sadiki noted that the agriculture sector’s compulsory insurance plan is expected to cover, in the early stages, 1.6 million farmers.
This plan is divided into a legal aspect, which concerns the preparation of the implementation decree, and a technical aspect in relation to categorizing farmers and specifying their contributions.
