Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita affirmed, on Monday, that the Moroccan-Israeli ties will not affect Morocco’s position on the Palestinian cause as the Kingdom will not cease defending the Palestinian people’s rights.
Bourita recalled that Morocco’s position is clear and unwavering as expressed by Chairperson of the Al-Quds Committee King Mohammed VI.
Following talks with Palestinian Minister of Social Development Ahmed Majdalani, Bourita stated that Morocco supports the two-state solution, stressing the Monarch’s backing for the Palestinian Authority and the preservation of the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights.
He pointed out that escalation in Palestine needs to stop, and each party should shoulder its responsibility, away from unilateral policies and provocations.
He recalled that this position was clearly expressed by Morocco, following the recent expansion by the Israeli government of its settlements, especially in the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
