A US Senate bipartisan delegation lauded, Monday in Casablanca, the role of King Mohammed VI in strengthening peace, prosperity, and security in the region and around the world.
“The talks with Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita provided an opportunity to explore the strong relationship between the U.S and Morocco, and to discuss bilateral cooperation to address a wide range of regional and international challenges,” said Bob Senator Menendez, chairperson of the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.
Senator Menendez also recalled that Morocco is one of the closest and oldest allies of the USA, adding that the meeting with Bourita was an opportunity to highlight the importance of the bilateral partnership on security issues, especially the fight against terrorism.
Menendez also praised the close ties between Morocco and Israel, stressing that these relations are creating new opportunities for peace and prosperity.
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham stressed that Morocco is perceived as a stabilizing force in an unstable region. He added that the relationship between Rabat and Washington is one of the United States’ strongest in the region.
