Because of its apparent dearth of expertise, Amnesty International Morocco (AI), asked, on Thursday, for the backup of technical representatives from AI Germany or from Canada-based Citizen Lab to respond to the enquiries by Morocco’s Personal Data Protection Committee (CNDP).
The CNDP is receiving experts to shed light on the unproven allegations made by Citizen Lab, Amnesty International and Forbidden Stories. The Moroccan agency is offering assistance to facilitate contacts with the foreign bodies, it said on Friday.
The CNDP indicated that it would receive an independent Canadian expert on Saturday.
The CNDP, which is acting on the basis of Law 09-08 related to the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, has decided to hold hearings for all national and international technical experts, willing to present and share their analyses and conclusions, based on rational methodologies and proven facts.
