King Mohammed VI came down with the flu and was advised by his personal physician to rest, the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery said on Wednesday.
The sovereign will not be traveling for the next few days, it added.
The Monarch was scheduled to visit Senegal on Wednesday.
