Morocco’s Personal Data Protection Committee (CNDP) will receive, this week, US computer science researcher Jonathan Scott for face-to-face meetings to discuss several issues, especially the Pegasus case.
The CNDP, which is acting on the basis of Law 09-08 related to the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, has decided to hold hearings for all national and international technical experts, willing to present and share their analyses and conclusions, based on rational methodologies and proven facts.
Scott released a report on Feb. 18 entitled “Exonerating Morocco – disproving the Spyware” clearing Morocco from all accusations of using that spyware.
This report examines the scientific methodologies and data used to make digital espionage allegations against the Moroccan government. It raises concerns about the forensic investigations conducted by Amnesty International, The Citizen Lab, and Forbidden Stories, and the reliability of their conclusions.
