The Moroccan cybersecurity strategy was outlined as part of the Cybertech Global Tel Aviv 2023, held Jan. 30 – Feb. 1.
The event brought together senior officials and government representatives to discuss cyber security issues.
Morocco was represented by Brig. Gen. El Mostafa Rabii, Director of Information Systems Security (DGSSI) and maCERT (Moroccan Computer Emergency Response Team), which is a center under the DGSSI meant to monitor, detect, and counter computer attacks.
Rabii highlighted the maturity of national capabilities in cybersecurity, stressing that “the most important achievement in cybersecurity for 2022 was the finalization of Law 05-20 on cybersecurity which entered into force in 2020 and allowed us to have the necessary tools to counter the threats of cybersecurity.”
As for the objectives set for 2023, El Mostafa Rabii said that the priority was to implement a new national strategy in accordance with law 05-20 on cybersecurity.
