Morocco topped all African countries in Karate-Do, winning 15 medals, made up of nine gold medals, four silver ones, and two bronze medals in the latest Africa Games hosted by the kingdom, said The Atlantic Federation of African News Agencies (FAAPA).
According to FAAPA, Karate-Do may not be a homegrown African sport but Morocco has a dedicated national academy that contributed largely to the growth and success of this game.
The academy accommodates 12 Karatekas, made up of five females and seven males and trained by a former African champion.
The academy is under the management of the National Karate-Do Federation with Mr. Mohamed Mouktabil.
