Morocco’s foreign affairs ministry and National Anti-corruption Body (INPPLC) signed, on Monday, a MoU providing an institutional framework between the two parties to fight corruption.
Inked by Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and INPPLC head Mohamed Bachir Rachdi, the agreement provides for sharing reports by international and national organizations on corruption. The INPPLC is tasked with analyzing such reports and integrating their data in the national body’s recommendations.
The draft agreement lays also provisions for the implementation of Morocco’s international commitments, in line with the conventions it ratified.
Bourita said the MoU will help the ministry and the INPPLC join hands and work together at the international level.
A joint committee was set up to supervise the MoU’s implementation and agree on activities as part of a yearly working program.
