19 former African prime ministers and foreign ministers were unanimous, Monday in Rabat, in considering the presence of fake “SADR” in the African Union (AU) as “a legal aberration” and “a political nonsense”.
Following the conference in Marrakech on Jan. 28, Lesotho, Gambia, and Madagascar joined the signatories of the “Tangier Appeal” to expel the puppet “SADR” from the AU, given that its admission was a historical anomaly and a legal problem.
The Marrakech event led to the adoption of the “White Paper”, a legal and political reference document to efficiently equip the “Contact Group” in its advocacy.
During their meeting at the Foreign Ministry, Moroccan foreign minister Nasser Bourita expressed his views on the presence of this entity at the AU, saying that the exclusion of “SADR” phony entity from the Union is fundamental.
The Moroccan official highlighted the fact that this so-called “SADR” does not have the elements of a State, mainly the territory and the population.
Bourita pointed out that this entity is not a member of the UN, yet it has been a member of the AU since 1984. He also cited the case of South Sudan, which was admitted to the AU only after joining the UN.
Bourita recalled that less than two-thirds of the AU recognize this fake entity, which is really awkward for these countries.
He argued that, while the “A” in “SADR” stands for Arab, this entity is not a member of the Arab League, so how come it can be a member of the AU?
Bourita pointed out that the entity became a member of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), wondering how did it happen since this entity is not a recognized state, and what products will it sell?
