Morocco and Bahrain signed Thursday six agreements on different matters during their 5th Joint Committee held in Manama.
The Committee was co-chaired by Morocco’s Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and his Bahraini counterpart Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
The meeting coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two kingdoms.
The first agreement is a memorandum of understanding on industrial cooperation. The second touches on collaboration in standardization and compliance with normative standards.
The third concerns the field of consumer protection through the sharing of relevant legislation. The forth is meant to diversify the volume of trade between the two parties.
The fifth is aimed at enhancing handicrafts, while the last covers the 2023-2024 cooperation program on Endowments and Islamic Affairs.
On a separate note, the Kingdom of Bahrain reiterated its steadfast and unwavering support for Morocco’s territorial integrity. It also expressed its support for Morocco’s efforts to reach a realistic political solution to this issue under the UN auspices.
During his visit to Bahrain, Bourita was received by Bahraini King, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who praised King Mohammed VI’s efforts and pioneering role in laying the groundwork for long-term development in the African continent.
The Bahraini King also lauded the position of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, of defending Al-Quds and preserving its cultural identity.
