Morocco’s Tourism sector recovered 84% of tourists in 2022 versus 2019, that is 11 million travelers, said Minister of tourism Fatim-Zahra Ammor on Monday.
Tourism revenues stood at 81.7 billion MAD in 2022, a recovery rate of 112%.
Domestic tourism witnessed a significant growth of 101% year on year.
The government contributed 2 bln MAD to promote the tourism sector, she recalled.
Local tourism is also being targeted to ensure its sustainability and make most of it, she said, adding that a database for projects by small and medium-sized enterprises was set up to revive this type of tourism.
