Morocco and Saudi Arabia signed on Tuesday an agreement meant to fight terrorism and sever its funding channels.
The accord was inked by head of Moroccan Police (DGSN) and Territory Surveillance (DGST) Abdellatif Hammouchi, and Vice President of Saudi Arabia’s Presidency of State Security Abdullah Fahad Salih Al-Owais.
The agreement seeks to foster intelligence cooperation and security coordination in the counterterrorism fight. It is also aimed at combatting extremism and eradicating hotbeds for terrorist recruitment, wrote a DGST statement.
The Saudi top official is currently on a visit to Morocco with an important security delegation.
