The Lower House unanimously adopted a draft bill setting speaking the Amazigh and/or Arabic as a condition for naturalization in Morocco.
The bill amends Article 11 of the Moroccan nationality Law. The previous version required only “sufficient knowledge of the Arabic language” to get the Moroccan nationality.
The bill is part of the implementation of the new constitution that made the Amazigh Language one of the country’s official languages.
