Israeli TV Channel “i24” hosted Aksel Bellabbaci, Kabylian official and activist, to shed the light on the situation of a northern geographic sliver of Algeria called “Kabylia”.
Kabylians are striving to secede from Algeria, with more than 4 million inhabitants living abroad as immigrants or political refugees.
“We Kabylians meet all the necessary requirements to become an independent state. We are a people with history, culture, land, and culture…,” Aksel told the Israeli media outlet.
He went to say that the Kabylians share many values and principles with Israel, especially as thousands of people from Kabylia are now living in Israel.
Kabylia has many cultural, historical and brotherly relations with neighboring countries, especially with Morocco, he added.
The Movement for Kabylia Self-determination (MAK) maintains its unflinching determination to get its people’s rights, despite its classification as a terrorist and separatist movement by the Algerian authorities.
