Morocco vehemently condemned the burning of the Holy Quran by Swedish extremists on Saturday in Stockholm.
Morocco flatly rejected this unacceptable, dangerous action and wondered how it was allowed by the Swedish authorities and law enforcement officers who were present at the scene, said the Moroccan Foreign Ministry.
It urged the Swedish authorities to intervene and shield the Quran and Islam religious symbols from all harm.
Such happening hurts the feelings of all Muslims and stirs up hatred among peoples of different faiths.
The ministry warned that double standards cannot apply to the values of tolerance and coexistence.
