The Kabylia Football Federation condemned Sunday the childish practices of Algeria, targeting Morocco, at the African Nations Championship for U23 (CHAN 2023), held in Algiers.
The Federation refused to mix sport and politics at this African tournament.
The Kabylia’s body voiced steadfast support for the Moroccan Football Federation’s grievance to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) against Algeria.
The Federation said that Algeria seems to be unable to shoulder its responsibility, with dignity, as a host country. It also urged the CAF to call Algeria to order.
The CAF had announced that it will investigate and look into political statements made at the opening ceremony of CHAN Algeria 2022 as it is a politically neutral organization.
This follows statements against Morocco’s territorial integrity made by Nelson Mandela’s grandson at the CHAN inaugural ceremony.
