The FIFA Disciplinary Committee issued on Friday sanctions against the football teams of Argentina, Croatia, Ecuador, Mexico and Serbia, for violation of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.
Those breaches happened during the Qatar World Cup 2022, which took place from Nov.20 to Dec.18, 2021.
The Argentinian Football Association have displayed offensive behavior and violated the principles of fair play. Their players and officials also showed misconduct during the Argentina Vs France game. This might be associated with Emiliano Martinez’s rude gesture during the closing ceremony.
The Committee also deemed that the Croatian Football Association violated rules, during the Croatia Vs Morocco game, especially those related to discrimination and order and security during matches.
Regarding chants by Ecuadorian fans during Qatar Vs Ecuador game, the Committee fined the Ecuadorian Football Association 20,000 Swiss Francs (CHF) and ordered a partial stadium closure at the next official FIFA match.
The Mexican Football Association was fined 100,000 CHF and ordered to play one match in a FIFA competition behind closed doors over similar breaches in the Mexico Vs Poland and Saudi Arabia Vs Mexico games.
The Football Association of Serbia was fined 50,000 CHF along with a partial stadium closure for the same reasons, in addition to team misconduct.
