A seven-strong US congressional delegation representing the Democratic and Republican parties highlighted, on Friday in Rabat, the Kingdom’s regional peace leadership in North Africa and across the African continent.
The delegation is composed of Jacky Rosen, James Lankford, Michael Bennet, Kirsten Gillibrand, Dan Sullivan, Mark Kelly and Ted Budd.
The delegation, on a visit to Morocco, had met with Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch on the distinguished relations between the United States and the Kingdom, based on a strong, ambitious and diversified partnership.
The top official emphasized the importance of bilateral ties, especially after the signature of the Abraham accords that usher in a new era of peace and stability.
In another meeting with Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, Democratic Senator from Nevada, Jacky Rosen, said the US is willing to expand its collaboration with the Kingdom and enable it to further the region’s stability and prosperity.
King Mohammed VI offered, in the evening, a dinner in honor of the US delegation. The event was attended by King’s adviser André Azoulayo, Bourita, Secretary General of the Council of the Jewish Community in Morocco Serge Berdugo and head of Ulema organization “Rabita Mohammadia des Oulémas”, Ahmed Abbadi.
